Experience and Reflections on the Inclusion of Chinese "Taijiquan" in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity

Abstract

Carrying Chinese thought and culture, Taijiquan not only reflects the distinctive characteristics of The Times, but also reflects its own cultural contribution to all mankind in the process of world intangible heritage declaration. Therefore, based on the method of literature and expert interview, this paper studies the process of Chinese Tai chi intangible cultural heritage declaration, analyzes the experience in this process, and carries out cultural reflection on this basis. The research shows that Taijiquan has the historical and cultural background of traditional Chinese characteristics, and has been strongly supported by national government departments and continuously promoted by elite figures in the process of world intangible cultural heritage declaration; Moreover, Taijiquan has been reinterpreted and reconstructed after its successful application to the world heritage.
